Breaking Free- Bible Study Comming in May!

During the month of May we will be staring a bible study based on Beth Moore Series Breaking Free

The Journey, The Stories by Beth Moore leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. Themes for this study come from Isaiah, a book about the captivity of God's children, the faithfulness of God, and the road to freedom. This in-depth women's Bible study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today's believers. Beth looks at the Book of Isaiah through the lives of the kings who ruled during the prophet's ministry. These kings exemplify many of the obstacles to freedom with which we must deal. Using Scripture to help identify spiritual strongholds in your life, no matter how big or small, Beth explains that anything that hinders us from the benefits of knowing God is bondage.

Join us on a Bible journey unlike any other. Discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. God intends for you to know and believe Him, glorify Him, experience His peace, and enjoy His presence. Breaking Free is Beth's life message that she wants to share with you. Taped live at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, this study includes testimonies of how women like you have found freedom and have been delivered from personal captivity.

May the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. — Psalm 68:3 NIV
Perhaps it’s the nature of what I do, but people often ask me if I think God laughs. They also sometimes ask, “Is God funny?” or, “Is there anything about God that’s funny?” My answer is always “Yes.” There are a lot of things that make me think God has a sense of humor. Maybe it’s my quirky sense of humor, but when I think of some of the animals he’s made (been to a zoo lately?) I know he laughs. Or situations that are so weird, nobody could put all the parts together but God. Even answers to prayer are hilarious sometimes. I think he laughs often.
Personally, I think the last laugh on earth will come from God. It will sound “like the laughter of the universe,” as Dante said in his allegory The Divine Comedy. When the Easter story is completed, the risen Christ will come to earth again and take us with him to heaven. Scripture says, “We’ll be walking on air!” (1 Thessalonians 4:18 MSG). And God himself will have the last laugh. The entire universe will be proclaiming the love of God in Christ Jesus—and then we’ll all laugh together, celebrating our risen and reigning Lord

The Greatness of His Favor (Devotional)

Today's Scripture:

"But God was merciful! We were dead because of our sins, but God loved us so much that he made us alive with Christ, and God's wonderful kindness is what saves you. 6God raised us from death to life with Christ Jesus, and he has given us a place beside Christ in heaven. 7God did this so that in the future world he could show how truly good and kind he is to us because of what Christ Jesus has done"(Ephesians 2:4-7, CEV).

Today's Word:

Oftentimes, people set their focus on what God has done in the past—how He parted the Red Sea or stopped the sun for Joshua or fed thousands of people with just a little boy's small lunch. Yes, God has performed many amazing miracles throughout history; and it's important that we give Him praise, but at the same time, we also have to look forward to what God wants to do in our lives today.

In today's verse, Paul says that "in the ages to come" God would do things that exceed anything He's ever done before. I believe that the "ages to come" is this day and time we're living in right now. God wants to outdo Himself in our generation! Remember, God is a God of increase. Where you are today is not where you are supposed to stay. He has greater levels of His favor and blessing in store for your future. Dare to dream big! Dare to keep a God-sized vision in front of you! Dare to take hold of every spiritual blessing He has in store for you!

Prayer for Today:

Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for showing me Your love. Today I open my heart and mind to You so that I can see the greatness of what You want to do in my life. Use me for Your glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
